Solano County hosted the first Public Workshop for the Travis Air Force Base (AFB) Sustainability Study (TSS) on September 15, 2016.
The TSS is a cooperative land use planning effort conducted as a joint venture between Travis AFB, surrounding jurisdictions, state and federal agencies, the public, and other affected stakeholders to address compatibility around the base. The focus of the workshop was to provide an overview of the TSS and its process, the importance of the TSS, and overview of the compatibility factors that will be assessed through the TSS planning study. Attendees had the opportunity to provide input on the compatibility issues they would like to see addressed in the TSS through an interactive issues identification exercise and discussion. In addition, the workshop included an overview of the Travis AFB mission to better understand the military missions and the associated impacts in the project study area.
